HIRING: Full Time Position (FLSA Non-Exempt)
POSITION: CO State Firefighter I / CO State EMT-B
North Routt Fire Protection District is recruiting for the position of Firefighter I / EMT-B.
This position will operate under the direction of the Fire Chief and will be expected to perform daily fire department operations to include activities involving fire suppression for both structure & wildland fires, emergency medical services, rescue operations, hazardous materials operations, fire prevention education, safety inspections, equipment and facility maintenance, and other duties as required.

SALARY RANGE: $57,000 - $78,000DOQ, with benefits which include FPPA Pension plus Fire District matching, & health insurance package.
WORK HOURS: 48/96 shift work – 2 days on (48 hours), 4 days off (96 hours)

TO BE ELIGIBLE, APPLICANTS MUST:
Be 21 years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Be a U.S. citizen or legally eligible to work in the USA.
Possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License. without record of suspension or revocation or obtain a Colorado State Driver’s license within one month of hire date.
Have no felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
Be able to read, write and understand the English language.
Have National Registry EMT Certification or Colorado State EMT Certification
Must possess a current ‘Healthcare Provider’ level CPR card.
Must be able to obtain a CO State Firefighter II Certification within 2 years of hire.
The North Routt’s District services include, but are not limited to, emergency medical, ambulance transport, structure fires, wildland fires, vehicle fires, hazardous material spills, motor vehicle accidents, confined space rescue, water rescue, ice rescue, search and rescue, fire prevention, and public education. Calls consist of 65% medical, 15% fire and rescue, 10% wildland fires, and 5% miscellaneous.
Required Training and Certifications:
Upon Selection for employment, all employees must complete the following within 60 days of their date of hire:
Routt County EMS EMT I.V. Certification
Routt County EMS Protocol Written Exam / Oral EMS Review with Physician Advisor
Must obtain AHA CPR Instructor Certification within 1 year of hire date.
